Our Mission (why we exist)

To glorify God by knowing, loving and proclaiming the Lord Jesus.
— Matthew 28:16-20; Ephesians 4:11-16; Colossians 3:14-17

We are a gospel-centred, Bible-based Anglican church in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and we welcome you to join us. Each week we gather together to hear God's Word about the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Values (what matters to us)

These are four ‘core values’ that are especially important to us:

  1. Making and maturing disciples of the Lord Jesus

We want everyone to trust in the Lord Jesus and have a deep and growing relationship with him. This happens as we learn more about and live out his Word, the Bible, which transforms and matures us.

    (Matthew 28:19-20; John 8:31b-32; Romans 10:14-15,17; 2 Timothy 3:16)

  2. A warm and welcoming community

We want to reflect God’s love towards us demonstrated by the cross of the Lord Jesus. So we enjoy being genuinely hospitable to all as a response to God’s love for us.

    (Luke 10:27; John 15:12; Romans 15:7; 1 Peter 4:8-9)

  3. An intergenerational family

We value being God’s people, the body of Christ, and equipped to serve so that the church will be built up. As God’s household we also deeply appreciate intergenerational relationships that provides encouragement and wise counsel.

    (1 Corinthians 12:12-26; Ephesians 4:11-13; Titus 2:1-6)

  4. A local Anglican presence

We love being part of our local community and want our neighbours to also experience Christ’s love. We also appreciate the history and richness of Anglican theology found in the 39 Articles and the Prayer Book, as well as the breadth of liturgical styles found within Anglicanism.

(1 Corinthians 11:23-29; 1 Corinthians 14:26-33,40)

Our Vision (where we’re heading)

Our prayer is that by 2028, by God’s grace we would see:

  • Our church family made up of different demographics all worshipping and serving God together

  • People from the community brought into relationship with Jesus

  • Stronger support ministries for a growing church

  • Stronger Word & pastoral ministry

What do we believe?

Our statement of faith contains the fundamental truths of the Christian faith, including:

  1. The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

  2. The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.

  3. The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering humanity subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.

  4. The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the Virgin Mary.

  5. Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God.

  6. The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

  7. The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in individual sinners, granting them repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ.

  8. The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.

  9. The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are also bound by the 39 Articles of the Anglican Church which you can download here from the Anglican Church of Australia website.
